I finished this painting recently - the inspiration was a photograph from the Wet Canvas web site reference library. I think that this has a sort of old master/renaissance feel - maybe because of the colors.
The painting is 9" x 12" and is painted on 140 lb. Canson cold-pressed watercolor paper with mostly QoR watercolors from Golden.
This painting will be a lesson soon for my intermediate watercolor class at Riverside Art Center in Wapakoneta, Ohio.

WOW! Gorgeous! Have you purchased the QoR colors? I used their tiny samples, and liked what I saw.
Despite my memory of the painting of the old VW from years ago, I have to say that this piece has moved into my favorite category. I love how you've handled the glass and the reflection of the pear specifically. The colors are gorgeous and lend to that rustic Italian feel (though I'm sure I'm reminded of green olives and olive oil by both the bottle and the colors). Very beautiful painting, Barb!
It is beautiful and beautifully painted. You are so good!
