I Am the Diva Challenge #175: Crux

The challenge this week is to use the tangle "Crux" in your Zentangle.  We were allowed to use another tangle in our composition, so I chose "Tipple" which sort of contrasts with the straight lines in Crux.  I did three variations of Crux and varied the sizes of the Tipple areas.  I also tried to balance my dark and light areas using symmetrical balance.  I used a .005 Pigma pen and a #.08 to fill in areas.  I used a black Prismacolor colored pencil to shade.

I superimposed 3 strings for this design.

If you have seen some of my other Zentangles, you have already figured out that I am very anal and controlled.  I am going to have to work on getting looser and more spontaneous in my tangling.

Redux, Remix, and Revisit Your Comfort Tangles

The Diva's Challenge this week was for the "Tanglers" to redux, remix and revisit their comfort tangles...those favorite tangles that you go to because you are comfortable with them and they just seem to sort of fit your style.

I chose to do variations of "Betweed" and "Scrolled Feather" for my two tangles.  I contrasted the straight, hard geometric lines and shapes of Betweed against the soft curves of the Scrolled Feather. This actually turned out to be a Zendala in the end.

Then we were asked to select another medium to shade with, and I selected Prismacolor colored pencils and kept an analogous color scheme with warm colors.

Auraknot vs. Mooka: The Diva's challenge # 172

This is my contribution to The Diva's Challenge for this week - Auraknot vs. Mooka.  The Auraknot is the center pattern and the Mooka surround the knot.  This tangle is 5" square and is done on good white drawing paper.

Village Two

This is the second tangle in the Village Series...it is also 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" in size and is on good white drawing paper.  It is also created with Micron-Pigma waterproof drawing pens.
