I think that I have finally finished this painting - I signed it...a good sign!
This painting is just short of a full sheet of watercolor paper 22" x 29" - it is painted on 140 lb. Acquerello cold-pressed watercolor paper - this painting is watermedia because it was poured with acrylic ink and finished with transparent watercolor with touches of acrylic ink. I think it calls for a black frame with a narrow white mat.
The idea of this painting is from a photograph by photographer Carla Parris, with her permission, of course. Thank you Carla!

Very beautiful, Barb! I like the sense of old with the vehicles and the autumn palette mixed with the new (the green grass, the birds...). It is as if you are saying those old vehicles aren't completely dead yet and someone could restore them and bring them back to life!

Barb, I love how you warmed up the original reds in this! Really is rust-like and such a warm painting. Love it!
Susan, I am impressed that you picked up on the changes I made to the rust on the further vehicles. I did think they were too red at first to be considered rusty. I mixed burnt sienna with dragons blood and that seemed to do the trick.
The warm colors in this are absolutely beautiful! Like something I might see in a dream. Love it!
