"Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year."

I went on a road trip with my daughter, daughter-in-law and granddaughter yesterday.  We drove to Cleveland (my birthplace and where I was raised)  - a trip of about 3 1/2 hours for my niece's baby shower.  It was a beautiful day, we saw family we hadn't seen in a long time, and ate some wonderful food...Their showers always have such great food.  After the shower we headed south again  on I-71, and stopped at the outlets at Lodi, Ohio.  We had promised my granddaughter that she could ride the train there that goes around and through the opening of the buildings of the outlet.  I rode with her while the other 2 shopped.  After the train ride, Rachel and I had something cool to drink and then we all headed south again.  In Mansfield we had dinner at Olive Garden - love their soup and salad.  Then we headed for home and were home by 10:00 p.m. - all in all a wonderful day spent with loved ones! Lots of wonderful conversation, laughter and great moments. All in all, a wonderful day.  Back to painting today!

Well, Barb, that was indeed a fabulously wonderful day! My kind of day, in fact.

I wanted to tell you that one of the images my instructor brought to her felted landscape class was actually one of your paintings that she printed from a website. She said that there were no copyrights on the website she found it on (which was not your own), but imagine my delight in actually working from a piece from an artist I know. Fortunately, the whole idea of a felted landscape doesn't allow for it to be copied as you painted it. She did say to let you know that some of your artwork is out there on the internet though. (I asked her about the copyrights on the image for your sake.)

I chose your image and must say that it looked nothing like your work when I finished it. Alas. Then when I got home, my dogs decided to play tug of war with the piece (I'd set it on the arm of the recliner), so I can't even show it to you. Sigh...

Glad you had fun in Cleveland and Mansfield! I live in Cincinnati now, but grew up in the Lake Erie area. Your glass still life below is very beautiful!

Sherry - thanks for telling me about this. My work is not copyrited - I have not depended on my work to make a living so have not been too particular about my rights to the works. Do you know what website she found it on - I would just be interested to know just exactly where my work is out there in cyberspace.

Katherine...I was born and raised in Cleveland until I got married and moved to western Ohio. Actually just a mile from Lake Erie when I was little. I used to hear the fog horns on foggy mornings.Where did you live? I think the lake really gets into your heart - I have such fond memories of it. Thanks for your nice comment on my painting.
