Painting #23: "Two Pears"

This is a postcard I painted this evening for the SWAP Yahoo group. It is 4" x 6" and is painted on 140 lb. Fabriano Artistico cold-pressed watercolor paper with Ocaldo mostly opaque watercolors.

You handled this beautifully, Barb. I love the sense of the pears ripe from the tree, said tree in the background. Truly stunning!

Barb, I don't know what it is about pears but I love painting them also..
This is a very good rendition of them. love the colors, and good enough to eat ! BJ

You are doing so well with your 90 days of a painting a day - such variety and glorious colours. Love these pears - ours are all green for sale over here in England at present. Can't believe I missed your comment about having had a stroke back in January. Doesn't seem to have stopped your creative output. Sorry not commented lately - family matters, ie new great grand daughter and spending time with the family, followed by my husband being very poorly.

Barbara, it's good to see how very productive you've been. The pears are luscious and I love the softness you achieved in the background and foreground. I think of the word, "Delicious."

Hi Joan...my 90 paintings for 90 days sort of got interrupter when I had the small stroke last month. I still plan to do 90 paintings, but it is going to take longer than 90 days! I am so sorry to hear that your husband is not doing well - I know first hand how things can interfere with the creative enterprises. I hope that things go well for you.

Thanks, Christiane! How is your show doing?

Thanks Mary. It is good to hear from you.

I like how you can still achieve a glow with opaque paints. That background is wonderful!

Thanks, Susan! The paints are an enigma (sp) - I am still trying to find out how much I can push them - layer them - etc.
