Arizona Poppy

This is a painting I just finished from a photo by David Richmond, a WatercolorWorkshop member.Actually, he informed us that this flower is not technically a poppy, but it certainly looks like one!  This is going to be the first lesson for my intermediate watercolor class at Riverside Arts Center in Wapakoneta, OH. This painting is 9" x 9" and is painted on 140 lb. Canson cold-pressed watercolor paper.

Hi BJ! I have been painting like a possessed woman - I'm trying to make up for the 2 weeks I lost while in the hospital and recovering at home!
I am gaining strength every day, visiting the doctor to get my blood tested to control the coumadin every 3 days - hopefully my numbers will even out soon - these blood thinners make me nervous!
Thanks for your always generous comments!
