Two Floral Abstractions

This is today's daily creation -sort of another abstraction painted from my head - it makes it interesting when one flower has 6 petals and the other two 5. Mother nature doesn't make those mistakes, but I do! Tee hee!

This one is approximately 5" x 8" and was painted with a wet-in-wet background with mostly negative painting around the flowers.

This one is yesterdays daily painting - also an abstracted floral study!  It was done with completely negative painting technique around the white paper flowers.

These are wonderful Barb! Warms me up on these yucky winter days.

Isn't it interesting to see where it took you when you used a similar theme from the day before and then let it take you someplace new! I really love the expression of the lines... the abstraction brings an emotion to it! Hope you had a lovely day!

What a great way to loosen up! I always intend to be looser but before I know it I am using brush no. 2 doing stamens :)

Nice loosening. I like the bottom floral.

I think these are both beautiful, Barb. The bottom one reminds me a bit of some old 70's wallpaper (and in a good way, not a negative way). Truly lovely pieces.

Gretchen...Thank you - we need something to warm us up - snow, snow and more snow.

Cori - it is an adventure carrying the theme through more than 1 painting - actually I think I will try another. I do think the first (white one) was more successful than the second.

Ruth - You and I have the same problem, then - I am constantly trying to loosen up! :)Thanks for commenting!

Thanks Studio and AutumnLeaves! I can see the resemblance to 70's wallpaper! (some fabrics, also.)
