Watercolor is my passion. After teaching art in the public schools for 40 + years I now have time to create art for myself. I am a watercolorist who sometimes likes to work in mixed media as well. My journey in art began when I was a small child and continues to this day.

Sore Feet...Great Memories
I did this painting for the Watercolor Passion website ...the quarterly project is now "shoes!" This painting was done on a 1/4 sheet of Arches cold-pressed watercolor paper with an assortment of different watercolors.
I, too, have not so fond memories of sore feet after wearing those excruciating heels! This is exactly how I would sit after taking those dreadful things off my feet! Now that I am old and have braces on both feet and ankles I know I will never wear normal shoes again, and if that includes heels then SO BE IT! That part is a relief!
Your drawing is great, skin tones right on and this is such a good painting in that it brings back a mood from long ago.
Susan...I didn't know about the braces on your feet and ankles...you are evidently doing well with them as active as you are - that is a good thing, as "Martha" would say! I can relate since I had a complete knee replacement a few years ago and my days in the heels are OVER also! And...I agree that it is a great relief not to have to wear them anymore:)
Oh, we've all been there!!! I think you should make prints or cards out of this - women everyone can relate and it's a good painting - love the shoes and the shine on them.

Rhonda...I think cards are a great idea - think I will do that right now:) Thanks for the suggestion.
Wow, I love this piece, Barbara. Such an interesting cropping of your subject and so well done.
Thanks, Mary. It was fun to paint!
