Watercolor in the Village

A Portrait of Patty's Cabbage
11"x 15"
Some time ago a good friend of mine, Patty Magato, gave me a sheet of watercolor canvas to experiment with. She also has the most beautiful garden, both with flowers and vegetables, and often shares her pictures with us. She is a gifted painter and photographer who generously shares her photographs with us. This painting, on the watercolor canvas, is a close up view of one of her photographs of her cabbages. My palette was limited to antwerp blue and quinocrodine red violet which gives you a full range of red violets, violets and blues.
I haven't accomplished much painting during the last 5 days because I have been babying my lower back which has been in spasm. I have had several visits to the chiropractor and am beginning to think that I may take up a paint brush tomorrow!

The cabbage is terrific, beautiful. Glad to see you breaking out of your shell and sharing some thoughts along with your exceptional paintings.
