I have
known for a long time that I just can't sit and watch television without
doing something with my hands, (I suffer from ADHD -seriously!), thus I
have discovered the meditative doodling called Zentangle. These
Zentangles were created during the last month while watching "March
Madness" basketball. This answers my need to be "doing" something while enjoying great basketball.
These have
been drawn on 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" chips of white drawing paper...for some
reason that size is considered perfect for Zentangling. I used Sakura
Micron Pigma black ink drawing pens for these. I have done several and
will post them over the next few days.

I like very much your Zentangle ... I understand your desperation when you do nothing, because I have a son who has your same condition, and I have learned to know the ADHD. I have not ADHD but the truth is that when I go to my doctor appointments I always carry a pen and paper and make sketches of the site or sometimes do some drawings like these but without following any technique ... one gets bored just sitting there waiting to be.
Actually we called them "tiles" not "chips" but it really does not matter. They are grand! I have trouble doing them while watching TV but I know others who can do it like you! Whatever works.

I do lots of doodling but never come up with anything as unique and interesting as these, Barb. And who knew you were a basketball fan?
I have drawn intricate patterns into my sketcbooks, using sharpies and finer pointed pens, in a similar manner for many years, and have recently discovered that everyone thinks I have formally studied something called "zentangles". I hope I can figure out why it bothers me so much that what I thought was unique and creative is saddled with a commercial-sounding name. I hope my watercolor paintings don't someday get a similar name. Does this bother anyone else, or am I just an old grump? That's certainly possible.
All that being said, your pen and ink drawings are quite entertaining - good job.
