I painted this watercolor today so I could teach it Monday night at my intermediate watercolor class at Riverside Art Center in Wapakoneta, Ohio.  It is transparent watercolor, 12" x 13", and is painted on BFK Rives printmaking paper.  It is from a photograph by agnesdale from the image file at Wet Canvas.  This, of course, will be a lesson in painting crystal.

Beautiful grapes and the crystal also. I think the glass would be a real challenge to your students! Mrs A

Every time I look at this I see something I missed before. Great detail without being fussy. Also love that granulated background.

Mrs A - the students handled the crystal very well - I will post their work in 2 weeks ... thanks for commenting.

Thanks, Sherry.

Thanks, Susan - I think the texture in the background was due to the paper (Rives printmaking paper) and to the granulating watercolor I used - (van dyke brown.)
