I revisited my experiments with color on this painting - the painting is  5" x 7" and is painted on a canvas panel with Craft Barrel acrylics.  I decided to paint a vintage Chevy truck as the subject - one of my favorite subjects, as most of you know.

Barb this is beautiful! I am almost positive I first found your blog when you were doing an old VW bug a few years back. Do you still have an image of that piece? I remember being so awed by it and for whatever reason, I never got to see the finished piece.

Sherry - Thanks! I no longer have that painting - I am surprised that you still can remember it - I'm honored!

Never heard of them.

Ginny - My mistake - they are called Apple Barrel Colors not craft barrel colors - they come in small bottles and I buy them at JoAnns, Hobby Lobby, etc. Other names are Americana, Folk Art and Accent. You have probably used them. Back in the 80's and 90's I used them for wood crafts and today I use them to paint scenes on glass ornaments to sell and also to give away at Christmas. They are not as intense (or expensive) as acrylics for fine art like Golden products. Well - you probably are already aware of all this. I find they come in handy for all sorts of quick painting jobs.
