Non-Dominant Hand Painting

The projects for this month involve painting with the non-dominant hand. This is painted from the photo provided by Watercolor Workshop. It is interesting because last year the same provided photo was also the project of the month and I painted it in my traditional style. As would be expected - this version is much looser than the first, (which is somewhere in my archives). Because I didn't know how this would turn out, I made the paper very small (for me) - it is 4" x 6" and it is painted on 140 lb. Fabriano Artistico cold-pressed watercolor paper.

I am also taking part in 30 paintings in 30 days challenge on the blog of Leslie Saeta: www.lesliesaeta.blogspot.com. and I plan to use this as my first painting of the month.

Holy cow, Barb,

I would have a hard time painting this as nicely as this with my dominant hand. Brava!

Your non-dominant hand is better than my dominant hand, Barb. Nice job!

Barb...what is goal of painting with the non-dominant hand? Sounds interesting but mine would turn out like a blind contour drawing if I did! Wibble Wooble.

I have enough trouble with my dominant hand!
For the challenge I posted the Slice of Life URL on my "blogs I follow" so that I can quickly check out what is on going. And any blog followers I have can get there easily too.

I am going to have a free Saturday this weekend and I hope to may get a few paintings ahead for the busy week following. Seems like Leslie is doing the same thing in order to stay ahead of us. My friend Durinda (from Chattanooga) is on this challenge. Check out her work. She did a 16 x 20 oil painting yesterday!!! But she said that she had all day so just took advantage of it.
