I have been trying to paint every day - this is a small painting I did this evening from a photo I took recently in Logan County. As everyone knows, I love old barns - especially "falling down" barns. It is so sad that barns will soon be a thing of the past, so I am trying to paint as many of the old barns as I can in this area.

The painting is 10" x 10" and is painted on 140 lb. Fabriano-Artistico cold-pressed watercolor paper.

I think this is beautiful, Barb. I've taken so many photos of barns that I really should get to painting some of them. I too think it is sad to see old barns falling down...They have probably been through generations of the same families until someone sold the land at some point and no one cared any longer.

Thanks, Sherry - that is the story of the barns around here and even some of the barns that are still with owners, are falling down. It is too expensive for the owners to keep them up. A very sad story.

Thanks so much, Donna! The colors I planned were unusual, but did end up working...I wasn't sure to start with. Who has ever seen a peachy-pink barn? :-)
