Watercolor is my passion. After teaching art in the public schools for 40 + years I now have time to create art for myself. I am a watercolorist who sometimes likes to work in mixed media as well. My journey in art began when I was a small child and continues to this day.

Picture #17: Abandoned
I finished this today - it is the January project for Watercolor Workshop - All paint from one photo!
This painting is 11" x 14" and is painted on 140 lb. cold-pressed Fabriano Artistico watercolor paper. It is watercolor and watercolor pencil.
Very interesting color choices, Barb. I love the greenish hues repeated in the sky and water. I just checked out your amazing production for January in spite of illness. I especially like Blue Poppy and Pamela's window. I like the way you push yourself to learn, even though you are a most accomplished artist. Take care.
Mary...you are so kind! Thank you so much for your comments. When I did this I wanted to use a sky color other than sky blue - thus the blue green choice for the sky and boat.

This is so lovely! I feel kind of sad for the boat and wonder at its owner. Beautiful work, Barb, but that comes as no surprise!
Barb, you have achieved such a fantastic glow in this painting. It is really warm and beautiful.
Thanks Sherry and Christiane, it was a fun painting and very good to be back in my studio in the basement finally.
