Painting #15: Blue Poppy

I did this little painting (6"x8") this evening. I was working on lost and found edges, something that I often fail doing in a painting. I am challenging myself to learn in this recovery period of my life.

The painting is painted on FabrianoArtistico cold-pressed watercolor paper.

Cori...Thanks for you kind comment - a lost edge is one where you could have an outline edge, but instead the inside shape flows out into the background-there are two areas in the top of the flower - one right and one left that have lost edges. A found edge is a definitive edge between the object and the background.

Thanks, Katherine - I love those colors too...there is enough orange in the background to complement the blue in the flower.
