Well - this has been a busy day...I spent most of the morning at the epidural clinic at the Orthopedic Institute of Ohio where I received a steroid epidural in the lower lumbar area of my back to help eliminate some pain. It wasn't very painful - just a little nerve wracking ...worrying about the unknown.
When I finally got around to doing my work for day 12, it was already 9:00 p.m., so I looked for the easiest thing around that I could do quickly. My eyes fell on the bamboo which was a gift from the wedding of my niece, Heather in June. Amazingly, it has thrived - grown pretty well considering the fact that I do not really have a green thumb.
The painting was done in Prismacolor watercolor pencils on 140 lb. Canson cold-pressedd watercolor paper. Why I am using Canson w/c paper? Well, I mistakenly bought some last year and have been trying to get rid of it. I am finally on the last sheet! Yeah!

I hope the epidural worked, Barb, and that you are at least not feeling too much pain. This bamboo is beautiful! I can't get half this beauty when I work a month on a piece.
Sorry about the back pain - hope the jab worked. Have gone back over your daily works and its amazing how different they all are in subject and style. How daunting though to think you have 80 more dailies to do!! Wish I could push myself to such a commitment, I think it would be good to get so much practice on top of the bigger pictures I tackle.
Thank you Sherri -you underestimate yourself - your work is beautiful. I haven't noticed too much difference with the epidural shot, but am still keeping up hope.
Yes, Joan, the thought of 80 to go is daunting - and undoubtaly you will see repetition of styles and media but not subject matter. I will be working in area I would like to know more about.
Joan - when I tackle the bigger full page paintings, my daily paintings will probably suffer - I may even use preparation and drawing for those larger works a part of the daily works.
