I have not been posting for a while due to the fact that I have been confined to a wheelchair for a couple of weeks.  I have been diagnosed with a sacro fracture and spinal stenosis of the lumbar spine.  It has been pretty difficult to post or paint!'
I was able to finish this painting for my Christmas Card.  It is a painting of the Cafe Verandah in my home town of Jackson Center, Ohio.  The painting is 8" x 10" and it is painted on 140 lb. cold-pressed watercolor paper.

I'm so sorry to hear of your back problems, Barb. I so love your art. I hope your variation of spinal stenosis is treatable and that you are not in too much pain.

Hi Vicki...the doctor is going to make the vertebrae immobile (fuse them?) This should take the pressure off of the spinal cord.
I am so glad to hear you like my work - it always makes me feel good to hear positive comments about it. Thanks a lot!

BJ - good to hear from you. Back pain is not fun - and sciatic pain is terrible. I am sorry you are also suffering. I am praying that surgery (Jan. 17) will help.

So, so sorry to hear of your back problems Barb. However has it happpened? Your two latest Christmassy paintings are a delight and well done for soldiering on with your painting under difficult circumstances.

Hi Joan -
I am just now getting around to commenting on my blogs - my back is still giving me a lot of pain - they postponed my surgery because of the blood clots I had in my left lung in Sept. so I guess I put up with the pain, or at least try!
