Beaver Lake from the Bridge

I painted this last Wednesday from the bridge that crosses the opening into Beaver Lake, in Natural Lakes, Wisconsin, in the Northwoods! Wow! What a beautiful place! This watercolor is 14 1/2 " x 11" and is painted on 140 lb. Fabriano/Artistico cold-pressed watercolor paper. How I love this place!!!

Just read back over 4 posts and found you had been into hospital but happily full of positive inner strength and recovering. What an amazing woman - not only painting but entering into show within days. Anyone else would be saying 'poor me' and lying low. HOW DID IT GO for the rusty truck?
Enjoyed the lakeland works and little flower - brave to use black background. That abandoned house is a great piece of work with lovely contrasts and composition. Keep going girl!

Goodness, Barb! Truly stunning and I can see why you love it so. I do too and I've never been. Love that Northwoods name. Reminds me of fairy tales!

Joan...I am elated to tell you that I took "Best of Show" with the old rusty truck. It was such a pleasant surprise. My health is slowly improving - I am very grateful. I had a wonderful trip to the northwoods - so inspirational.
Thanks so much for your encouragement!

ConservativelyBohemian - from now on I am calling your CB - Okay?
I am truly in love with the Northwoods - as I have said - when i went to bed last night, i looked at the pictures I took which I still have on my lap top - They are gorgeous! They will make great source photos for the cold winter days ahead.

Thanks, Mary - Plein air does add more spirit to a painting - I know that when I am painting en plein air, I feel as one with nature - such a great feeling.
