Rainy Afternoon at Provico

Tonight I finished this plein air painting that I started last Friday while plein air painting with Michelle Walker and Chris Leeper at Provico in Botkins, Ohio.  It was a misty, cold, rainy day and I tried to capture that feeling in this painting.  The painting is 9" x 12" and is painted on a canvas panel.  It was such a privilige painting with Chris Leeper.  What a wonderful teacher!

This is so very well done, Barb! I see scenes such as this one alot around here and I love that you've captured it so beautifully. As for the rainy day, they are my favorites so maybe that brings much to this scene for me too.

Katherine - thanks! The day was a challenge with the clouds and rain - but beautiful in it's own way.

AutumnLeaves - where are you located that you see these scenes? I am happy you think I captured the essence of the day!

I'm in Illinois, about 65 miles SW of the city of Chicago. Farm country for miles around me and many granaries alongside the tracks that run along I-55!

AutumnLeaves...I guess you do know about granaries! Once when coming home from the north woods of Wisconsin, I drove south out of Rockford down to Peoria and went through that farm country - once in a while I would see a lone tree but mostly just gigantic farm fields. We have large farms in Ohio, but nothing like that. I was impressed.
