Grunge Truck

This painting is finally finished.  I finished it this afternoon in our Thursday afternoon painting group with the Muses.  I am calling it Grunge Truck, because that is what Pamela Baker titled the photograph I used as my source.  The painting is 22" x 28" and is painted on 300 lb. Arches cold-pressed watercolor paper.  Many thanks to Pamela for the source photo and to Brenda Vogt for the very wonderful sheet of watercolor paper.  This painting was a challenge, but I am happy with the results.

Barbara, I think this is a beautiful painting. I so love old antique cars and trucks as subjects of a painting. Your own pieces in this genre are exquisite. In fact, one of the reasons I searched to re-find your blog (I had it long ago, then lost it and kept looking until I found it again), is because of an old vehicle piece you did a couple of years ago that just left me awed. This one is just the same for me. I love it!

beads2yarn...I am glad you like the colors because they are a little unusual - I mixed them up ahead of time and they are some very unorthodox mixtures.

AutumnLeaves...Yes - I definitely love old cars and trucks - especially the old trucks and I have been painting them for some time. The wonderful thing is that there seems to be no limit to how many old trucks there are out there once you start looking! :)
I am glad you re-found my blog because I love your comments!

Susan - thank you for commenting at a time when free time is limited for you. I hope you are recovering from your accident quickly and with a minimal of pain. I know that if you do a truck painting it will be perfect!

Thanks Gillian - "Inking!" -isn't that a coincidence? Yes they are getting artistic in their word choices.
