Deep in Thought

This was yesterday's offering to the painting muse for my daily blog.  I would call this an 'impression' portrait - not really a finished painting.  The paintings I am doing for my daily creations blog are basically 1 hour paintings which will be created in various media.  This painting is 8" x 6" and is painted on 140 lb. Arches cold-pressed watercolor paper.  It is a VERY loose interpretation of a Wet Canvas photo.

She's beautiful! I love her expression and the soft muted colors. I think you should mat and frame her!

This is beautiful, Barb! I don't "know" you as a portrait painter but it looks like you can paint any subject :)

jgr...I am so obsessive about my paintings - it is hard to leave them alone - loose - I always have this compulsion to 'clean them up' and ultimately they end up much too tight. These 1 hour paintings keep me looser/free-er - and I have to abandon the impulse to keep working into them. Mat and frame her ....... well.......um....we'll see:) tee hee

Rhonda...I have done a lot of portraits, but not recently, and usually they were in oil or pencil. Thanks! I am glad you like it!
