This is another version of the tulip magnolias which my friend Patty brought for the Muses to draw one Thursday afternoon. This particular painting is pen and ink with watercolor wash. It is approximately 10" x 10" in size and is on 140 lb. Canson Tientes cold-pressed watercolor paper.

Just beautiful, Barb. The colors remind me a bit of the old bathroom tiles of the 1950's that I often see on HGTV. I love how they combine here!
You are correct - those are colors from the 50's and believe me - I was there to see it. Pink and green combinations were very popular then. In the 60's, our first bathroom after we were married had apricot fixtures and baby blue walls - a very different combination, but popular in the 60's. It is funny how tastes change, isn't it?

I love magnolias and these are beautiful. I had not made the connection with the 60's colors...but I remember that my mother's kitchen was for many years a combination of these two exact colors:-)
They look like they are little dancers in pink tutus :)
Christiane...I don't think it was particularly a bathroom color scheme as it was 50's colors. At one time I thought they were really cool - funny how we change, isn't it?
Rhonda - now that you mention it, I also can see little dancers in pink tutus - they are having a good time, too! :-)
