Following The Rain

I finished this painting recently for the intermediate watercolor class I am currently teaching.  This is painted on 1/2 sheet of 140 lb. Arches cold-pressed watercolor paper.  It was a lesson in limited palette - the colors in this are burnt sienna, antwerp blue with a little sap green.  The students are doing very well on this one and seem to be enjoying it too!

It's a beautiful painting... and proof that a limited palette doesn't have to be limiting!

Barb, I was happy to see your photo from your vacation. We just returned from a major trip in Scandinavian and Nordic countries. This piece is wonderful and evokes times past. Your florals are beautiful, especially Dancing Angel. I also like your ink and wash sketch. Lovely!
