Watercolor is my passion. After teaching art in the public schools for 40 + years I now have time to create art for myself. I am a watercolorist who sometimes likes to work in mixed media as well. My journey in art began when I was a small child and continues to this day. Barbara Hart Sailor

The Girls on Vacation
I hope you missed me!!! I have been on vacation. We took a family vacation - the WHOLE family. We went to Pipestem resort in southern West Virginia and had a wonderful time. This is a picture of me and my girls - my two granddaughters in front with me and my daughter-in-law Tina, daughter Marilyn and daughter Beth in the back row. We had lovely weather and were very busy - golfing, paddle boating, playing miniature golf, horse-back riding and most importantly, enjoying the wonderful mountain vistas.

We traveled to WV last fall on our way to FL and visited friends in Lewisburg. We gave some thought to Pipestem and then got off another adventure. I am glad to hear that it was a good trip and what a nice photo!!!
It sounds like you all had an awesome time. So glad you were all able to do this!
I wondered where you've been :) Glad it was a splendid time. Now you have more eye imagery for more painting ;)
I have been slightly worried about your lack of posts, so now I know it was for the best possible reasons....family! Good for you. I like you new shorter hair style, too!
Will be looking forward to newest art projects from you, here. Good hearing from you....Susan
Ginny - we love West Virginia - have been there many times. Pipestem is worth the stop - absoluely gorgeous. The lodge is a beautiful example of Bauhaus architecture from the 1960's - a real gem...and although the park is now aging, it is beautifully cared for...a real treat! I got many good pics and did some plein air painting.
AutumnLeaves...it was great! Now back to painting!
Sharon - Happy Anniversary to you and Bill and many, many more. We had a great time - now you know where I was! :)
Yes - I took a break from painting and posting and truly enjoyed my wonderful family. I am now teaching an intermediate watercolor class every Monday evening, so am busy, busy again. Am also trying to finish some other paintings which I started before vacation. All that, along with trying to catch up with the laundry and housework has kept me very busy. The new shorter haircut is much easier to keep up with:)
So glad you enjoyed your trip, WV is one of my favorite places!
jgr...it is one of my favorite places also - they say it is "God's Country" and I can see why they say it. I did get a lot of photos to paint from. Thanks for visiting!
