I finished this painting this evening. I started it before I got sick and found it difficult to get back into the "swing" of things painting again. This, of course, is my favorite subject - vintage trucks - and I had a lot of fun with the color in this. It is a large painting - about 18" x 30" and I will probably mat it in white with a warm wood frame.
It is painted on 140 lb. Fabriano Artistico cold-pressed watercolor paper and I used a lot of one of my favorite colors, Dragon's Blood in this one.
This was painted from a photo by Carla Parris with her permission.

Barb, so glad to read that you are feeling better! Such wonderful news! Love what your group did below and as always, your old vehicle paintings are phenomenal and some of my favorite paintings out there!
Glad you are feeling well enough to get back to painting. This one must have a lot of symbolism and meaning for you, as you went through your healing process - and who among us doesn't think about getting older and slightly rusty? ha ha Take care and have a wonderful week!
Thank you Sherry for you always supportive comments. I am so happy you love my old vehicle paintings!
Rhonda - I hadn't thought of the symbolism/meaning connected to this...Yes - there is a lot of it in this because I worked on it during my lows as well as my highs as well as during my healing when I was thinking of it all the time, especially at night - when I was in the hospital and couldn't paint. Also - before I went into the hospital there was a period when I wasn't strong enough to come down into my studio so there was no painting then also. It has been a traumatic time...so much that I started to lose my hair after my fall when I lacerated my knee and had 28 stitches. That had to be my low!
Thank you for your always meaningful words.
