Coastal Village

I finished this watercolor this morning - a transparent watercolor painting with ink line detailing.  It has a sort of abstract quality and I love the linear effect of the ink lines created with the Micron Pigma pen, .05,

This will be the lesson for the Monday night intermediate watercolor class at Riverside Art Center in Wapakoneta, Ohio.  I hope they like it!!!...and...I hope the weather cooperates this week...I am tired of ice and snow!

The sleek, modern feel to this is very nice! I'm trying to learn to see things in a more simple way- this is great example of that very thing. I hope your class likes it, too; I certainly do!

Your lucky students, Barb. I wish I could take your class to work on all the fascinating pieces you offer your class. This one is a wonderfulpiece with a serene atmosphere and a very contemporary look.

Alice Jo Webb - thanks for your thoughtful take on this painting. We had 7 painters last night and they all really got into this work. They didn't finish - we will use 1 hour next week to finish and I will post them.

Christiane -I wish you could take my class also - so I could pick your brain and pick up hints, etc. You are an exceptional painter!!! As you have surmised, I try dfferent styles and techniques with my class and introduce them the assorted artistic philosophies and movements. It is fun for me to delve into styles, etc. different then my usual technique. I also benefit from this class.
Also, having taught art in the public school for more than 40 years, I have a background in these different movements and techniques...Jack of all Trades - master of none!!! :)
