I have worked on this off and on for the last 3 days. This is the painting I started during my demonstration for the Cincinnati Watercolor Society. If you would like to see that demonstration, it can be found on Rhonda Carpenter's blog, rhcarpenter.blogspot.com.
This process uses acrylic ink instead of watercolor during the pouring process and makes use of Pebeo drawing fluid to mask out areas. This painting is 1/2 sheet of 140 lb. Fabriano Artistico cold-pressed watercolor paper and was finished in traditional watercolor.

This is beautiful, Barb. I love that background behind the plant. Just perfect!
Just lovely as always!!
Wish I could have been there to watch!
Love you!
Donna
Thanks, Sherry! I had fun painting the background and working in the various colors!
Thanks, Donna! I haven't forgotten your request on the negative painting project - I'll get to it soon. Now that my show is hung, and the reception is over (today) and the demo in Cincinnati is over - NOW I have some time!!!
Love you, too!
Barb
This looks great. Info about your demo will be on the GCWS blog soon and I'm trying your technique right now and will post that with a link to your blog when it's finished. So good to meet you.
Thanks, Deb. As I mentioned last week, I think this is rather contrived, but there are areas I like.
I am anxious to see what you come up with using that technique.
It was great meeting you, also!
