Watercolor is my passion. After teaching art in the public schools for 40 + years I now have time to create art for myself. I am a watercolorist who sometimes likes to work in mixed media as well. My journey in art began when I was a small child and continues to this day.

DIY Project - Fun Thursday with the Muses!
The Muses
did a fun project today - a project from DIY Network. This is acrylic
on canvas with a chevron design applied by using blue painters tape and
white gesso! This was a lot of fun! A great afternoon, too!
Sherry...the acrylic painting comes first, then the blue painters tape creating the chevron design, and cover the surface with white gesso, remove the tape, and voila!!! I painted the edge of the stretched canvas with white gesso also. The example on the web site was just a beautiful, colorful, abstract painting.

Which did you do first? The bottles/background or the taping and gesso? Interesting pattern!
Very creative! I like this.
Fun!!

Thank you Christiane and Donna! I also thought the project was creative and yes, very much fun.
