This is my
newest watercolor - I finished it this afternoon. It is from a
beautiful photograph taken by my good friend, photographer Pamela Baker
(www.bakercreekdesigns.com). The scene is near Spencerville, Ohio. The
painting is 12" x 6" and is painted on 140 lb. cold-pressed Arches
watercolor paper. I love to paint pictures of the typical Ohio winter -
we have beautiful snows. I am truly ready for spring, though!

What a beautiful composition you've got here, Barb. Did you crop from her original photo? As always you've produced a truly beautiful and a serene painting.
I don't have the time this morning to tell you all the elements of this that please me, but I do want to say how beautiful and soulful this is. You are just the best!
The snow light and shadows are lovely, The painting beautiful.
Sherry - Thanks, as always! No - I didn't crop from her photo - it was already vertical in orientation - but was vignetted to a long oval. It is not identical to the photo, but similar enough to recognize it from the photo.
Susan - Thank you so much for your wonderful comments - when I feel down all I have to do is go back and read your comments to encourage me again. I hope you are okay - I think about you a lot.
Susan - thanks for visiting my blog and leaving such a kind comment. I tried to set a mood with this.
