I finished this painting this afternoon - it is one of the month's projects for the Watercolor Workshop - All Paint From One Photo! This photograph was submitted by Cathy Geha - the necklace was her mother's. The painting is 8" x 10" and is painted on 140 lb. cold-pressed watercolor paper for Fabriano Artistico.

Hi Barb this is so similar to the one I did last year. I found mine on a copyright free photo site. maybe wet canvas, can't remember but it's posted on my blog.
Good job! BJ
Funny to see BJ's comment here because I thought that it reminded me of her painting myself! LOL Beautiful job, Barb. Love all the attention to detail on each bead.
Barbra Joan - I hunted up your bead painting on your blog in 2011-it's beautiful, and it's both similar and different from mine...the composition is very different, but the beads are very similar. This is not something I would have chosen to paint, but am very glad I did! Thanks for your comments.
Thanks, Sherry...I appreciate your comments...I painted each bead separately - like a separate painting so that explains the detail on each bead. Then I pulled it all together with the shadows and reflections on the table.
When I first looked at the necklace I thought it was a photo. Your painting looks so realistic. Gorgeous job.
