Today I took an old painting out of the "archives" and collaged white tissue paper over the surface. Then I did an ink drawing over the painting using a nib pen and dark brown acrylic ink. The collaged tissue paper gives the painting a misty effect which I like. The painting is 11" x 15" and is on 140 lb. Arches cold-pressed watercolor paper.

I LIKE ANYTHING TO DO WITH A FARM. THERE'S JUST SOMETHING ABOUT A NEAT BARN.
Oh my goodness, Barb! This is just gorgeous! I'd love to hear more on how you did this. I can imagine because I've done some decoupage type of stuff but I can't imagine doing it this beautifully.
Thanks, Granny!
Thanks,Sherry - what I said is just about it!!! I used an old painting, cut white tissue up into rectangles and collaged them onto the painting using acrylic matte medium and then did an ink drawing on the top in dark brown acrylic ink when it was dry. Try it - we all have a multitude of "failures" in our archives - so the way I look at it - nothing lost! (and maybe something gained! :)
Barb...I wonder how you sleep at night when your brain is so full of all of these creative ideas! I like this a lot and will go through my pile of tears and give it a try when we get home. Couldn't hurt!
This is so dreamy-looking, I like it a lot.
You are having fun lately with collage work and this latest piece has real atmosphere.
Very beautiful effect, Barb!
Thanks, Susan - the truth is that I don't sleep very well at night and yes, there often are many thoughts moving around in my brain. I often wish I could click a switch to go to sleep!
You should go through your archives and try this - it is a lot of fun!
Yes, Joan - I am enjoying the collage format - I find that I am enjoying the textural effect very much. Thanks for your comments!!!
Thanks, Christiane!
