Corner in German Village

I started this watercolor sketch on Thursday afternoon and am just now getting back to it this afternoon. I did the drawing with brown acrylic ink and a nib pen and finished with watercolor wash. This painting is 1/4 sheet of watercolor paper - 15" x 11"...is painted on 140 lb. cold-pressed Arches paper. This painting is from a photograph I took late this spring in Columbus.

Barb, lovely painting, and look at your fence.. You know.... sometimes I hesitate to mix watercolor with other mediums, I'm such a traditionalist , and lately I'm seeing so much with ink, and pastel and even colored pencil ,, and liking the idea .. I will have to try to expand my mind and just give it a try... BJ

Absolutely fabulous, Barb. I love this and the ink just adds that just something extra that brings it over the top!

I have been to German village in Columbus a few times! You've captured its charm perfectly! Wonderful painting!

Barb...I think I have finally discovered why I find your work so fascinating...you combine the rendering skills of an illustrator with such painterly charm! I find carefully-rendered illustrative work to be kind of cold sometimes, but never yours, they are so warm and soulful; even if they are just buildings!
