This is another quick study from my sketches during my trip to the North Woods of Wisconsin. This is an adirondack chair my friend has sitting on her dock - in fact she has two...I was sitting in the other. This was done with watercolor pencils, watercolors and water brush with some detailing from an Espresso black ink pen, extra fine point. This was also done on card stock.

Such a different style from your last piece! But this is gorgeous in its own right. Admittedly I have a great affinity and a secret desire to actually own an Adirondack...and green is my favorite color...and I am a tree hugger...LOL Love the control of this piece too. So cute!
Oh Barb, Greg and I bought and hand-assembled two adirondack chairs just this summer. I painted them sky blue. Something about those chairs is so "comforting"! They just beg to be nestled into, don't they? AND they are comfortable as well. I can't believe you did this with watercolor pencil. I am going to have to try this sometime! Just wonderful sketch! I love it.
There is just something so North Woodsy about those chairs...I love them.
Ginny - did you see that company in Minoqua with all the colorful plastic adirondack chairs? That caught my attention everytime we passed by. Of course i prefer the wood, but those were sure pretty.
