Seaside

After finishing the daylily painting, I decided that I had better prepare one more painting for my class on Mondays, so I did this small painting last night. It will be a lesson in pouring watercolor. It is 11" X 13" and is painted on 140 lb. Arches cold pressed watercolor paper. This will be our last class for a while - sorry to see it end.

Patty's Day Lily

This painting was finished this afternoon. It is painted from a photograph which was taken by my good friend Patty Magoto. This beautiful flower was in her garden. It is painted on 1/4 of a sheet of Arches 140 lb. cold pressed watercolor paper and is the latest painting that I have prepared for my intermediate watercolor class at the Riverside Arts Center. This is the last painting for this 6 weeks session.

Apple Basket for Watercolor Workshop

i
I finished this apple basket painting last evening. It was painted from a photograph provided by the Watercolor Workshop for the October project where everyone paints from the same photograph. This was painted on 1/4 sheet Arches 140 lb. cold-pressed watercolor paper with mostly Holbein watercolors. Every painting I start I decide I am going to paint it in a loose, watercolorly style and I always end up with a tight, clean, anal watercolor. It's hopeless! I think I will have to give up my dream to be a loose woman! All I can say is that it is not for the effort of trying.
